Single-Sided Coated Evaporative Cooling Pad

Traditional evaporative cooling pads often suffer from a hidden weakness: the air-intake face—which is in direct contact with harsh outdoor air—ages much faster than the rest of the pad. Our single-sided coated pad effectively addresses this issue by applying a specialized protective layer to the intake face, the area directly exposed to sunlight, dust, and mineral-rich water spray.
This coating serves a purpose beyond aesthetics. It creates a non-porous, quick-drying surface that prevents algae and minerals from adhering to the substrate. This allows the pad to stay cleaner, dry faster, and maintain its structural integrity even after seasons of heavy use.

The cooling process begins as hot, dry air enters the coated intake face. The dark-colored coating absorbs heat from the incoming air, accelerating the evaporation of the water film on the pad’s surface. As the air passes through the cross-fluted cellulose core, it flows over a vast wetted surface area, releasing heat through evaporation.
The protective coating does not interfere with this process. Instead, it moderately hardens the intake face, enabling it to withstand the physical wear caused by constant airflow and water impingement; meanwhile, the uncoated interior remains fully porous to ensure maximum water absorption and evaporation efficiency.
