Greenhouse Evaporative Cooling Systems: Energy-Efficient Climate Control

Maintaining a stable, mild growing environment is the foundation for high-yield, high-quality greenhouse cultivation. Extreme summer heat, excessive dryness, and poor air circulation can hinder photosynthesis and crop growth, increase the risk of pests and diseases, and lead to reduced yields and economic losses. For modern commercial and agricultural greenhouses, evaporative cooling pad systems have emerged as a smart, cost-effective, and eco-friendly climate control solution, widely recognized as the most reliable natural cooling technology in agriculture.
Utilizing principles of negative-pressure ventilation and natural evaporative cooling, the system consists of high-density porous cooling pads, a circulating water system, and negative-pressure exhaust fans. The water circulation system distributes water evenly across specially designed corrugated cooling pads, creating a continuous, uniform water film. As exhaust fans draw hot outdoor air through the wet pad media, the water absorbs heat and evaporates rapidly—converting sensible heat into latent heat—thereby effectively lowering the temperature of the air entering the greenhouse.

This physical cooling process mimics natural cooling by wind and rain, delivering fresh, cool, and humid air evenly to every corner of the greenhouse. It completely avoids the air desiccation and chemical contamination associated with traditional mechanical refrigeration, creating a well-ventilated and stable microclimate for a wide range of crops.
Most vegetables, fruits, flowers, and seedlings require appropriate humidity levels for healthy growth. While cooling the air, the evaporative cooling pad system also raises indoor humidity to optimal levels, effectively mitigating issues caused by hot, dry air—such as leaf desiccation, marginal wilting, and stunted development. A stable balance of temperature and humidity optimizes photosynthetic and respiratory efficiency, significantly boosting growth rates, yields, and visual quality, ultimately delivering greater economic returns for growers.

Our cooling pads are manufactured from high-quality, UV-resistant, and corrosion-resistant PP material. They offer excellent durability against aging, corrosion, and water exposure, ensuring a long service life that eliminates the need for frequent replacements. The modular design allows for flexible installation in new greenhouses and easy retrofitting of existing ones, without requiring major structural modifications. With a simple overall structure and few wear-prone components, routine maintenance is limited to periodic cleaning of the pad surfaces and the water circulation system, thereby saving time and labor costs in farm operations. In modern precision agriculture, stable and efficient climate control is key to achieving standardized cultivation and sustained profit growth. Wet-pad cooling systems strike an optimal balance between cooling efficiency, energy conservation, environmental sustainability, and economic viability, effectively addressing common challenges in greenhouse cultivation such as high temperatures, excessive energy consumption, and unstable growing environments.
